Jazz Dance Orchestra primarily known as jazz interpreters of pop and rock classics, as well as Russian folk songs. Alina’s music can be described as acoustic fusion of jazz, Russian folk, and classical music. Rostotskaya won, or was among the finalists, at several international jazz competitions: Moscow Jazz Vocalists Competition (Grand Prix), Voicingers (Poland, 2nd prize), Riga Jazz Stage (Latvia, 3rd prize and Special prize), Nomme Jazz (Estonia, Special prize), Baku Jazz Competition (Azerbaijan, Grand Prix).
1/2 Orchestra is a Moscow-based brass project. Incredibly mixed jazz, techno, afrobeat, hip-hop, drum ‘n’ bass and funk – the band members called their genre ‘new age brass’. Except for acoustic instruments, the musicians use some analog stuff, different effects and processors.
Hailed by the late Dave Brubeck in 2010 as “the most exciting group” he has “heard in recent times,” the Second Approach Trio – pianist Andrei Razin, bassist Igor Ivanushkin, and singer Tatiana Komova, – plays contemporary chamber crossover of jazz, fusion, folklore, and modern classical music. Jazz festivals and contemporary music forums combine with performances at art galleries, film festivals, and theater symposia on their schedule, as well as interaction with painters and ballet artists.
